Enabled by her first loan through ASA PAKISTAN, Mehwish Muhammad Ashraf started a small business with the purchase of a sewing machine in 2016.

With an initial loan of 20,000 Pakistani Rupees (~USD 125), she managed to increase her monthly salary by Rs. 5,000 (~USD 31). Over time, she qualified for higher loans up to Rs. 60,000 (~USD 375) and in 2019 her income grew to a stable Rs. 25,000 (~USD 155) per month.
