Enabled by her first loan through ASA PAKISTAN, Mehwish Muhammad Ashraf started a small business with the purchase of a sewing machine in 2016.

With an initial loan of 20,000 Pakistani Rupees (~USD 125), she managed to increase her monthly salary by Rs. 5,000 (~USD 31). Over time, she qualified for higher loans up to Rs. 60,000 (~USD 375) and in 2019 her income grew to a stable Rs. 25,000 (~USD 155) per month.

Mehwish Muhammad proudly explains how she was able to repair the house and build an extra room for her sewing business with the additional earnings from her small business.

From poverty to a successful businesswoman – the impact of #movingmoneytomeaning.
